Q: When do we start recorders?
A: We learn recorders in 4th Grade.
Q: What is Recorder Club?
A: Recorder Club is an extracurricular music group that meets before school once a week. Students in 4th and 5th grade who want more experience playing the recorder are welcome to join. Students in 5th grade may even elect to play the alto recorder! Recorder Club performs at the Stafford County Fine Arts Festival.
Q: What is Musical Hornets?
A: Musical Hornets is an extracurricular music group that meets before school once a week. Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade are welcome to join Musical Hornets. In this group, students sing, play xylophones, and play percussion instruments. Musical Hornets performs at the Stafford County Fine Arts Festival. If you want to join, ask Miss Tourot for a permission slip, and return it by October 30.

Class Announcements Program ChangesDue to the abundance of snow days recently, the following musical program changes have been made:
3rd grade - moved from February 23 to March 16. P1A - moved from March 16 to May 11. The P1B program date remains the same - April 27, 2010. Interactive Recorder Fingering ChartNeed some help remembering those recorder fingerings? Here's a neat tool.

It starts at 7:00 pm, and students must report to their classrooms by 6:45. See you on the 27th!
Recorder Club and Musical HornetsMusical Hornets will be held on Monday mornings from 7:45 - 8:30 starting November 9. Permission slips for this group will be available from Ms. Tourot starting October 5, and must be turned in by October 30.
Recorder Club will be held on Thursday mornings from 7:45 - 8:30 starting December 3. Permission slips for this group will be available from Ms. Tourot starting November 2, and must be turned in by November 24. PTA Musical Program Dates AddedThe 2009-2010 Grade Level Program schedule is as follows:
